that may be, and there are other reasons for that, but in general terms a revolver is no more accurate than an auto

yes a revolver has a fixed barrel, but it also has 5, 6, or sometimes 9 different bullet chambers that are all slighlty different. the accuracy ratio of a firearm has nothing to do with auto or revolver, only with precision of craftsmanship
I have a Ruger MkII gov. target model with a 10.5" bull barell that is very very accurate. As in shooting 10 shots in the same hole at 25 yrds on a bench vise.
Besides that, look at what the top handgun target marksmen are shooting and you can see for yourself :-)
