Play the guitar that is the most fun sound wise. Concentrate on the sound you want to create. Rush? Steve Ray von, nirvana? John Lee hooker, see what I mean. Play what touches you, what's important to you.
Study is cool, especially is you are a bit OCD. But always Play for fun
