Ive sat through hurricanes in days of darkness with the windows boarded up.
Plywood over the windows with no electricity on an island that was under 4 foot of water for over 2 weeks when I was young.
Hurricane Hugo I believe.
My grandmother tells me the story of Hurricane Betsy, that was a real hurricane.

There are boats where I am from that were movied, and they left them there. Picked up the boat moved it a few miles and put it on land... ;)
