As much as I feel sorry for all the people living in fear, locking themselves up and depriving themselves from social and/or sexual relationships... this whole thing has really accelerated our growth.

Wearing masks slows the spread of the virus. It doesn't stop it, but it does slow it. So the slower it spreads the longer the pandemic is dragged out. In other words the longer it will take. We should be happy for all those brave people not wearing masks. The more people get infected, the sooner everything is over. And we'll also realize this virus is not that deadly after all.
Most of the people who die from covid would've died from something else anyway. Google "excess mortality". Of course excess mortality will also include the suicides because of lockdowns, unemployment, etc.
It's definitely not a black and white story.
