As a webmaster... I beg to differ with you. I have a free website that I offer update notifications to over 6K... and not personally every 2-3 weeks, this opt-in list gets additional pay-site income.
You have 10K? You are losing "personal-touch" emails and up-selling.
They would enjoy "reading" from you, the webmaster.
