I'm a totally newbie webmaster.
I just found this topic interesting to share what I have/plan. I have a picture blog which is in Wordpress. I use a picture blog based responsive and minimalist theme in there. As I am not a good programmer/developer, I use a good gallery plugin.
Now, I believe any theme is good, if there are not a lot of complex thing to handle. And keeping the site fast is also super important in this industry (little bragging :D , that's why I don't put any pop-under/pop-up/ad (against my philosophy to provide quality content, as well)).
And I am here to learn still a lot from all of you
