What you could do is count the number of download clicks in your platform by using custom download tracking links - and write it to your database.
You won't get accurate bandwidth numbers, but they can be good for estimates / comparison / fraud detection.

I've seen a custom solution where on each download click, an extra pop appears for the user, saying "You have X number of downloads left. Click here to download this file."
I think this second step forces users to manually confirm each download, and prevents false inflated click numbers caused by download managers that might open 10 download links at once but then not download them at all.

All this requires custom coding of course. You have to consider if this is really worth the time and money invested.
