Usually on eBay or Amazon there is a picture of the cord being sold showing what each end looks like. Most cords are male at both ends.
Most USB devices come with a cord, usually with one end being male USB and the other end male (whatever style male plug the device takes). The specifications or instruction manual should also say what type of plug it takes.
