That's interesting. Sometimes putting up barriers makes some people want to break them. I wasn't alive in the 40's or 50's, but when my mom would take us trick or treating,Moshe used to leave a pumpkin with candy in it and a note to take 2 and not be a greedy goblin and I think most people were honorable.
A special pumpkin dispenser rigged to give only 2 candies would have seemed like an invitation to break it.
Have there been social psych tests on honor system stuff like this recently?
