I first played WoW back in the early day where, like you said, you had to walk. Not to mention, when you did get to level 60 it was a real effort to early the 200g to get the epic mount so you could at least run faster.
I was in a guild that would raid and I ended up rarely doing the raids because they were so involved they would take 15+ hours a week to do and I just didn't have the time.
It was a very different game then. One thing I liked was the way building your character through talents really changed the style of play and what your character was good at/for. Now all DPS is pretty much the same as is healing etc. Strategy has been replace with firepower.
I'm not sure if I will play it, but I might check it out just for nostalgia.
