Mexico is safe, unless you're in the drug business. Then it's dangerous as fuck and your clock is ticking. You've bought into the Media Mexico, not the Real Mexico. The Real Mexico is perfectly safe and culturally it makes much more sense for a refugee from Central America to stay there.
