This guy should stop thinking so much about movies and just enjoy them.
In all seriousness though, these are things I would never notice because I'm looking at the "big picture" when I watch a movie. I try not to get caught up in little details that don't have any effect on the overall outcome or emotional impact of the film I'm watching. Most movies with a surprise actually do surprise me, because I'm not spending every moment trying to solve the puzzle. I'm probably enjoying the cinematography, or acting, or music, or editing or whatever part of the film has appealed to me. And I can find something to like about every movie I watch...even the ones I know are crappy overall. Maybe it's a good scene with some snappy dialogue, or a camera move I've never seen before or the perfect edit combined with the soundtrack to manipulate me into feeling something. It's made watching movies so much more enjoyable for me in the last few years when I don't sit there picking apart every detail. And I always give a movie the chance to win me over even when I'm not feeling it for the first two acts. My favorite thing is to be just "meh" about a flick and be blown away be the last act...or the final scene. Super satisfying.
