As I said they don't have big goat herder beards Iranian are much cleaner cut and look more Westren than any of the other Arabic countries. Iran would have been our allies still today if the CIA hadn't tried to over throw their govt which ushered in a wave of backlash allowing the islamist to take control.
Iran was very western in the 70s and far ahead of all other Muslim countries as far as individual rights go.. The US's problem with Iran comes from our coup attempt of their govt and US relations with Israel/Saudi and prior relations to Iraq. Iran is of course out of line now, but we helped push them in that direction..
