My father was one of the few survivors of a kamikaze attack in the Pacific. He was a merchant marine and in the crow's nest and alerted the crew. Was in the water for two days! Amazing he survived (and thankfully he did otherwise no me).

The Nazis weren't invading America at the time.
Plenty of American lives were lost in World War II.
Let's not compare battles, they were ALL horrible.
