As about the Caucasian cuisine so it's already a part of Russian culture too (for many centuries). Russians don't know that their shashlik was called shish kebab and that their Soviet kefir was invented by Caucasians too. Even shawarma is the most popular Russian street food today. You say you've been to Odessa, right? ;)
