I totally agree with the guy in the linked video, he handled the situation well, she deserved more.

In NZ culture it is a highly offensive term, not just when a white person says it to a coloured person but any time the term is used out of explaining history.
American male coloured teens.. use it as a greeting frequently online "Sup Nigga", Its not done to be offensive, took me a while to learn its just a greeting and conversation continues... and that shocks me, because I'm waiting for the gun fight to erupt.
