This is similar to what the Republicans did to Hillary Clinton. They made out to be guilty and had investigation after investigation. Every investigation was handled properly, and every investigation came back as no crimes being committed. But the damage was done.

Now we have a serious crisis and very, very serious crimes being committed and... The Republicans are just going to stand by. This is not going to end with Trump being removed from office and and potentially going to prison. This will continue when we start investigating members of Congress who supported Trump. What did Nunes know, and did he take part in a cover up? And so on....
