Mausoleums

Mausoleums or huge statuesque gravestones... Would you ever pay tens of thousands of dollars for a huge statue on a grave? Not crosses but the other things such as flowers, helmets, houses and more. I saw some in a cemetery today as I drove by and was surprised at how many people have huge gravestones. As a kid we’d bike or walk through the cemetery but I don’t remember seeing huge stones.

I know that they honor the people buried below and some have huge stone houses with the coffin inside. But it seems like a waste of money to buy that, as if boasting the family has money.

I saw a rendering of my stone which was done when I was in critical condition. Plain with no decorations on it. I paid $2,500 for it plus burial fee of eight grand and five hundred to the rabbi. I’ve tried to get that back for years. I questioned the eight grand to the funeral home but all I get is that is the cost.

I know you show your love with a stone but fifty grand for average people? And unmarked graves for people who only could afford the grave and burial but not the marker?
