For many senators, they have so much invested in POTUS now that the truth can not be allowed to be told because it would hurt them in all the stupid things they have said in helping donald obstruct and cover.
If the press were doing their job, they would have been asking those senators on the record on individual issues in constitutionality. The few that have did not go well for them. They looked as stupid as they are. My guess is they have all avoided questions from the press on issues except where there is a controlled environment.

Yeah, and every time they have "damning evidence which will blow everything open", it always turns out to be just people doing their job. You look at it and go "ok, that makes sense. The FBI saw suspicious activity which could jeopardize national security, so they did their job".
But the conservatives see it as "How dare they assault the character of American heroes like Carter Page and George Papadapolous. We need to get to the bottom of why our FBI is investigating Republicans. Why don't they investigate Hilary again???..I mean, she has all those emails and she was the mastermind behind Benghazi, where four Americans died...because it's not like any Americans died oversees on George W Bush's watch. But wait wasn't he the president and she was just Secretary of State? It doesn't matter. Logic will not penetrate our thick skulls.
