In February, Instagram deleted one of my photos for "nudity". The photo was a portrait of a black man and a white woman--nothing was visible below either person's neck. Thinking it was a mistake, I reposted it, and it was pulled down even faster than the first post was. At this point, I made a protest post, pointing out that the image was of an interracial couple--and that too was pulled down. I figured that these posts would put me on the IG moderators' radar, and sure enough: within a month my account had been permanently disabled.

Instagram is owned by Facebook, which had no problem in letting their advertising clients for years selectively discriminate against FB members in certain demographic categories... more on that here: https://www.theguardian.com/technolo...lu-race-gender
