Nope, love Manga, grew up on the original stuff. Reason why I don't do a lot of it is that there're traditional and non traditional manga styles. Styles vary, but there are certain constants. So my manga style is unique and I don't want to show it off til I produce more stuff mainstream. Reason is because the minute you put out a new twist on manga, everybody and their third cousin twice removed dupes your style and you get lost in the wash.
That's why my main style is classical. It's impossible to duplicate because you've got to really know how to draw in the format of the masters which is only achieved by really going out and drawing from life. No other way. It separates the chaff from the wheat.
Too many artists study from already produced art never learning from life. When pressed to go out and create something original they fall apart and end up in court.
Once you've mastered life drawing you can create so many styles you'll never go stale.
So that's the manga problem. On the other hand, I'm a master storyteller. Lotsa guys can draw cool shit, but a rare percentage can get you to understand what the hell the drawing means.
Again, you have to go out and meet and appreciate people to learn how to communicate with images.
