For whatever reasons a fire started the blame lays directly at the Catholic church and French Governments feet. Notre Dame's wooden part will be rebuilt and hopefully other building of historic significance will be protected better.

I thought the same thing. No money to preserve history that’s irreplaceable but enough for attorneys to defend pedophiles. In Boston where the legal shit began they spent millions and closed churches over the fees.
I’m sure sprinkler systems for older building are exhorbitant due to old wiring, old building materials , etc but a worldwide fundraising campaign to protect the historically significant buildings could pay for it for years. I’m sure someone would donate the system and architects and builders would donate time to figure it all out.
If Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker could raise millions a year for their church and Jessica Hahn fees, if people were stupid enough to give to two good actors, then the world is smart enough to help rebuild and secure Norte Dame.
Synagogues would donate because religious artifacts and buildings are rare and worth preserving. Protection of religious, historically significant buildings should break all religions together. We may not believe Christ is god or son of god, but Jesus was a Jew. Jews should help in preserving religion. Many won’t agree but I don’t need it as these are my feelings.
I concur that the fault is that of the Church and government. One hundred years ago the areonists and religious kooks weren’t present. These days someone torches buildings for the thrill of it, against the new pope or because they want to.
I wonder if there was insurance...
