Politicians refuse to accept it. For more reasons than the backstop.
So we stay inside and elect MEP who are committed to drag it back to a Trade Union and drop the idea of a Political Union. Even you are unable to give good reason for Centralist Rule. We don't need it and if the EU asked the people of each country if they wanted it, the vote would be no.
