So, my question would be, if all is in order for a legitimate tax return (something that congress is not looking for),
if it were found that he has many biz dealings with Russian and Ukraine folks, would you think less of him.

It certainly would explain many of his actions to say the least.

They will get a copy of those returns and discern them for just that. Using a 1920's law. SC will end up with the case.

But I think when the dust settles, exposing the tax returns for anyone running for POTUS should be a requirement at the time of filing. Like it is for everyone else in high office.
Nobody in federal elected positions should be exempt, but currently, POTUS is.
I don't want to go through this again. This much should change.

"Treasury secretary “shall furnish” tax returns upon request from the chairmen of Congress’s tax committees, provided that documents associated with a particular taxpayer are viewed in a closed session"
