Not correct as usually, but yes. from now it's forbidden to insult (no tho criticize) the government. This is law doesn't change anything in Russia, because it was officially forbidden before, so if I call Putin a motherfucker, I can be fined for that.
The last time when police has tried apply the anti-insulting criminal punishment was many years ago, when
some guy has called Putin a fag in mediaх. When he was sent to a police station, he said that he didn't even try to insult Putin. By "fag" he meant that Putin is a homosexual, according to his own humble opinion. Since there is no law against opinions, the case was closed. But it had a huge Streisand effect... The search engines were generating "fag"-related SERP's for a "putin" query )
The second law which was also signed by Putin today is much worse. It's a so-called
law about "fake news". In short, everybody who spreads "fake news" in the Internet can be fined for up to 300,000 rubles (about $4,500 USD). So it's something like this craziness:
