They test for gender in the Olympics due to Russians being the ones to discover and abuse DBol and turn women wrestlers into men.
However, there is a more complex issue in gender and genetics with respect to athletic performance and that is that many people have both X and Y chromosomes and look 100% female in every way.
The defining difference in those people physically is the extent to which they produce male;/female hormones, in what ratios and to what extent their body responds. A {female" can have both X and Y and can produce an inordinate amount of testosterone and not respond to it at all, or produce so little that there is no physiological advantage in competition.
Complicating things is that strenuous physical activity and training can also play with ratios and the bodys response to these hormones.
Olympic medals have been taken back in a few famous cases when a "female" possessed both X and Y.... without any consideration as to whether or not it had any impact at all on her physiologically of if she just got their by working very hard/
The truly tragic thing is that unchecked PC culture has made it now possible for any person to just proclaim themselves male or female and compete without any regard to human physiology or testing.
