That's actually not a cover it's a derivative work acoustic version arranged by Lars Horntveth of A-Ha and sung by Morten Harket, lead singer of A-Ha. You know they got paid massive money for that to end up in Deadpool 2.
The Weezer version is a cover with a compulsory cover license. Compulsory cover licenses don't require the permission of the copyright holder but you have to do the song pretty much exactly like the original otherwise you're going into a derivative work territory where you have to contact the license holder and negotiate with them how much more you're going to pay.
