In Houston, these places are in every strip mall in most areas of town and sadly most look legit and they use every store front like "reflexology", "foot massage", "nails and spa" etc. A lot of them look quite nice by design. In fact, my GF went to one a few months ago with some friends on a whim and she was telling me about the shitty massage she got and i started asking questions like "uhm... were the windows tinted/blacked out?" etc and she finally "got it".
My understanding is that the majority are also legitimate meaning you can go pay for a massage and get a massage or pay for whatever and get it and the only difference is a little "wink" in the end, where it's understood by both that a new negotiation can happen. So a scary thing is that you could be in a place like this, in the middle of a police sting, get a massage and have a girl get you excited and then be enticed into getting a handjob and then be in the news for soliciting prostitution and have your life destroyed.
Then in the news constantly are these places getting raided. Maybe not where Kraft is but they do in Houston and they're often full of undocumented Asian girls which opens up a whole new set of problems beyond prostitution,... but being a party to sex trafficking, underage girls etc. Just from what i've seen in the news and read online, i would never contemplate walking into one of these places personally, but I kinda get why someone like him would do it, thinking no one would ever know who he is.
