You can get an unmanaged, 4 core 8 thread server with 32GB of RAM, 250Mbps guaranteed unmetered bandwidth for under $50 a month at SoYouStart for a budget server and under $100 per month at OVH for more bleeding edge hardware with 500Mbps guaranteed bandwidth.
If someone is paying $350 per month for a typical unmanaged server they're paying too much.
