I think she should have won. Because its always more fun to try to force the hand of an anti-gay conservative to participate in some degree in gay relationships.
Its kind of like how the gay wedding cake couple insisted on it being made by an anti-gay conservative baker. One might wonder, why not simply have it made by someone who's supportive of gay marriage, and would be delighted to make it? Because YAWN, that's why.
