Oh I agree, Democrats can push some weird stuff, but mostly its social issues and nothing that destroys the economy..
I will say that the tax issue can also go the other way, where you are over taxed. Cali is probably closest in line with that, but in reality that state has the biggest economy so Im mixed if they are over taxing or not. Also noted Cali now has a surplus budget..
The deal is what Republicans whine about on being over taxed is basically any taxes at all.. The kicker is they dont see all the other taxes they get charged.. Example FL has no state tax so people think thats great... well FL has very high property tax.. You will easily pay $1,5k to 5k for the average upper middle class home in FL. You will pay $250+ in state "fees" to register your car + sales tax of course. Then there is the "southern states cop tax".. There are more cops than you can possibly count in FL and Tx is the same.. They have their not so hidden tax called "taxation by citation".
Most states with no state tax tend to have a over abundance of cops. The reason is thats how the local cities get their tax money. They tax people by writing lots of tickets.
