Republicans are dead set against a higher minimum wage but it is about the only way we are ever going to see a balanced budget again. Or we can cut the military. Again no one will support that.

It honestly boggles my mind why this basic concept goes over their head..
1 guy can be richer than 50 thousand people.
Yet 50 thousand people need cars.. 50 thousand cars need to be registered and pay sales tax on them. They have to buy gas and pay sales tax. They have to pay for insurance all of these needs create jobs as people need to service those needs. Those jobs create income tax.. it goes on and on..
Meanwhile that 1 rich guy, might buy a handful of cars if he happens to like cars a lot... He can have all the money in the world but he wont create the jobs that the 50 thousand people will create if they are spending disposable income.
The basic principle of a strong economy is having lots of people spending money, not just a few..
