After leveling those ridiculous claims he was combative, argumentative, and unhelpful in his testimony. He has shown himself to be entirely partisan and incapable of legal objectivity. This - not the assault accusations - is why 2,400 Law Professors oppose his confirmation, along with the American Bar Association.
This is a great loss for everyone, Republican or Democrat, because it taints the Supreme Court with partisanship.
