i am really not sure if that would even makes sense - because you do not WANT the truth.
but i will try.
look: if on the one hand less and less people are participating in the labor market and you would not create one single job that would mean that your unemployment rate is decreasing - got that ?
if you fire on the one side people and create the same numbers of new jobs on the other - how much more people do you have in work?
+100.000 - 100.000 = ????
can you help me ?
so lets have a look on the other side of the metal:
Quote:
Both the labor force participation rate, at 62.7 percent, and the employment-population ratio, at 60.3 percent, declined by 0.2 percentage point in August.
The number of persons employed part time for economic reasons (sometimes referred to as involuntary part-time workers), at 4.4 million, changed little over the month but was down by 830,000 over the year. These individuals, who would have preferred full-time employment, were working part time because their hours had been reduced or they were unable to find full-time jobs.
In August, 1.4 million persons were marginally attached to the labor force, little different from a year earlier. (Data are not seasonally adjusted.) These individuals were not in the labor force, wanted and were available for work, and had looked for a job sometime in the prior 12 months. They were not counted as unemployed because they had not searched for work in the 4 weeks preceding the survey

so letīs count that now together:
LESS people TOTALLY EMPLOYED
and peoples who did not look for a job in the past 4 weeks (because they might be on holidays, or simply gave up) are not in the stats.
and did you know HOW unemployment rate in US is determined?
I think you as a polls deniar would be shocked to know it.
it is based on telephone polls.
btw. the EMPLOYMENT rate in US is increasing since 2008 but did not change or even go down in the past 2 years.
can you see some botanic specialist and ask him to explain you the difference between apples and melons ???
