and I don't know about you but I'll take the best of the best over mediocre every time. of course I want the best Air Traffic controller, doctors, lawyers, etc. that requires a benefit package that's a big enough incentive to motivate people to be their best.
I don't disagree with the fact that there is much bloat in governments, but let's not penalize those who were promised a cost of living raise because of that and let's not distort the issue either with pay. these people did not set their salaries.
