For example lets say I want to watch a video on youtube. There's almost always an ad in front of it, even if the content I want is only a minute long.

Even worse are videos that are 10 minutes long, but have 5+ ads in them.

The worst of all are websites with text on whatever subject, but which have a delayed pop-up with an ad. It's not just an interruption, it's a rude interruption.

When I go to a website, I do notice the ads down the side, and thats fine. If the ad is something I'm interested in, I may click it. If not, having it pop-up in the middle of the content I'm trying to consume will not make me click it any more, in fact it will make me hate the brand.



Yes its an ad, but it doesn't interrupt you from the content. You see it and if you're interested in it you click it, but if you're not interested in it you ignore it. In fact my banner probably becomes invisible to you after a while.

GFY does their advertising right. Ads at the top and bottom, pined threads once in a while, etc. Not intrusive in my opinion.
