I did, backed up the wallet with a 24 word seed.

My hard drive failed. I had a paper copy. Expected the process to be like bitcoin or any other crypto...

NOPE...

It seems that in an effort to free up space they effectively deleted all ledger records. so any seeds would not work after the date of deletion.
Apparently, you can scroll through 1000's of transactions to try and find your address however I don't have it. It was in like May last year.

My hard drive failed in Feb this year and it looks like I have lost my stupid IOTA.
