Cohen is ending his ‘joint defense agreement’ with Trumps attorneys

Cohen ending ‘joint defense agreement’ with Trump only ‘makes sense in world where he flips’: ex-prosecutor

Michael Cohen has ended his joint legal defense with the president, which experts say is a definitive sign that President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney is about to “flip” and cooperate with prosecutors.

ABC News revealed on Monday that Cohen’s new counsel would soon end “a joint defense agreement Cohen shared with the president, which allowed their lawyers to share information and documents with each other.”

Business Insider pointed out that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn had made the same move before agreeing to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

Former assistant U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey Mitchell Epner told Business Insider that it is a sure sign that “Michael Cohen is preparing the way to flip on POTUS.”

“Ending the joint defense agreement with POTUS and the Trump Organization makes no sense in the world where Michael Cohen is going to fight,” Epner said. “It makes complete sense in the world where Michael Cohen flips.”
