History is written by the winners. 30+ in the House and holding at 50% in the Senate in 2018 means the democrats win for the cycle. Bill Clinton had the media on his side for his comeback, Obama as well. Trump does not. The House will go into every detail of his life, businesses, associates, etc. He will be hard pressed to win in 2020, and probably won't.
23 or less in the House, and any republican gains in the Senate, and the democrats will self-destruct for 2-3 years until they purge the identity politics, welcome the poor whites, decry socialism, and focus on poverty reduction rather than social justice.
I don't have the slightest idea which way it will go, it all depends on turnout.
