When I first moved to Australia I lived at the end of a canal in Broadbeach. We'd go fishing off our dock and feed the pelicans. Our neighbors had a dog that spent a lot of time in the water, playing fetch and cooling off. The first thing my kid learned in school was never swim in the canal water because if bullsharks and the rare croc! They drilled it into him so much he was afraid to swim in our pool at night, at first, for fear a croc or bullshark would jump in the pool from the canal
The neighbor dog was never attacked like the one in the video below but it was always our biggest fear of having to witness that.
The video below the animal is already dead, you just see the Croc swimming with it in his mouth, filmed in a canal by a New Zealander.
