This is why someone like Rush Limbaugh has went completely unchallenged on AM radio for decades. You guys get mean... people tune out. You can't talk politics with humor. It has to be mean and hateful in its tone and people don't like it and grow tired of it quickly.
This is why MSNBC (the counter to FOX) is now just a stupid network about prison reality tv. I wish liberals could get their shit together and actually communicate in a positive way to counter Conservative voices in the US, but if history tells us anything, it's that we shouldnt hold our breath for that to happen.
