Also, there is a difference between commenting on someone's appearance and calling a black person a monkey. Referring to black people as monkeys has a long, dark history in this country. It's off limits in this country. You grow up in this country knowing it is off limits.
If you want to say some soccer player looks like an ostrich, that isn't racist because there isn't hundreds of years of racism behind that statement. Saying Serena Williams looks like an ape is racist because of said hundreds of years of history.

Two of her co-workers said she was wrong and are glad this happened. Her comments were terrible but, personally, I just believe she didn’t think. She thought she was at a table with friends rather than the Internet.
Viacom cancelled her reruns. Every weekday from 4-7 and Saturday from 8-4 it was on. Her pocketbook will feel this. And for others who get residuals, it’s gotta hurt.
She blamed Ambien but the manufacturer said it won’t cause racism. Meds loosen your tongue, sure, but putting racist thoughts in your head?!
