I don't believe video games are the problem. When I was a kid we used to play "Marine" in the backyard with a toy M16. This was back in the day of Pac Man, Frogger, and Missile Command. They have the same exact video games in the UK but also no mass school shootings.
This nonsense about "protecting schools" needs to stop. There was two armed guards at the school, and still had ten killed and ten wounded. People watch way too much TV and think that a good guy with a gun will stop a bad guy with a gun before anyone gets hurt, and this is clearly not true. During the shooting in Texas law enforcement engaged the gunman for thirty-five minutes.
