A bit more on revealing the informant:
The story after the story broke on this was the nyt was not revealing the informant's name, for safety reasons they cite in the article I linked, that looks to be so up until last night or this morning. It does make sense that Rudy might have been also keeping it a secret at that time he was asked about it a few days ago.
