The Miami Herald reported that suspected gunman Jonathan Oddi was heard yelling “anti-Trump rhetoric” in the hotel’s lobby early Friday morning — but that he also shared a post on Instagram from the pro-Trump group Turning Point USA known for their antics on college campuses.

In another post, he also praises First Lady Melania Trump for tempering Trump’s “aggressiveness.” The Miami Herald said his online activity showed “mixed political leanings.”
The 42-year-old Oddi reportedly lived close to the Trump resort, and was shot and apprehended by police after entering the hotel, grabbing a flag and yelling about the president.
