If that intended coup was succesful, a pipeline could be built connecting Qatar and its gas with Turkey. But any outcome other than wrecking another more or less stable country, is highly unlikely at this point.
The idea of a pipeline from Saudi to Turkey is a stupid idea. Terrorists would be blowing it up at any point not heavily guarded. I do agree with it being about oil. All sides want to control the World's #1 resource. Terrorists, leaders in the area and the West. We're fucked if terrorists get hold of it.
