Not since I was a kid, family come a shore without even shoes as the story goes, they were from Islay and headed to NZ to seek their fortune. We are probably related, mothers side was Fellowfields, grandfather had a few butcher shops so was well known around the Dunedin area, they ended up at Roxburgh, my mother married one of the apprentices and they ended up working around the Dams when they were built finally settling in Waimo where I was born
My first job was at Mtcook, cooking so I was back in Dunedin going to polytech there. Fucking great pub/ band scene there in the 80's
