Controlled migration is the only answer.
1. Can the migrant earn enough to cover his and his family's costs and contribute to tax revenues?
2. Does the migrant have skills that are needed
3. Can the migrant afford to rent or buy his own home?
4. Will the culture of the migrant clash with the culture of the country taken them in.
At present Europe and the US is suffering from lax migration rules and illegal migration that have allowed low skilled, non-skilled and unemployed to move to the richer nations. Causing a crisis with house building, the UK is now 1 million houses short of what's required. School places, wage suppression, higher unemployment, stagnation of tax revenues and a huge strain on the wealthier taxpayers to pay more taxes to support more people.
It's not a coincidence that 1,000s are stuck in the camps on the French coast trying to get into the UK. They've walked through numerous countries and 1,000 of miles, some paid trackers a lot of money and now risk death or capture to get on a vehicle to carry them to the UK. They want the benefits of living in a country that gives them money and supports them. Will the liberals pay enough taxes to support them? NO!!
The UK goes into a debt spiral because of the huge welfare bill. Cuts are being forced on the NHS, Housing, Education, LocalGovernment and a lot more. Even with austerity.
