So Nazi Germany took away my family's farm and I get to sue the US Government?
How much do you think that farm is worth now? One million US dollars? Two million? Ten? Plus damages. Plus interest. Plus the fact that my family lost half a dozen people. We could easily be talking tens of millions of dollars here.
In fact, you can argue every single person in Polish suffered huge losses during the war. Same with the UK, France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Italy, various countries in Africa, and dozen other countries. It's estimated that over one hundred million people were killed during WWII - How can you compensate one hundred million families for this? How many families lost houses? How many families lost businesses?
Frankly, any of this would be nearly impossible to take to court. Do you really think the local courthouse still has the original deed to my family's farm, and that we can prove it was taken away from us?
I am not saying people weren't wronged. They were. Some very horrible, evil, and vile things came out of this. People lost their homes, their businesses, their money, their possessions, their art, their valuables, and most importantly they lost their family members. Every family in Europe can trace back to some kind of loss. What I am saying is we cannot file hundreds of millions of lawsuits over this.
