At a certain point we need to just let this go.

You can argue it wasn't Germany, it was Nazi Germany. Nazi Germany was defeated and no longer exists.

You can also argue Germany already paid reparations, to the tune of $23 Billion. Might not sound like much, but $23 billion was worth a lot more in the 1950s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_reparations
